Our directions have us getting on the 5 in SD then staying on it until Sacto, so I didn't plan to get off to maneuver around LA traffic, but I would if I could get through faster in some way. to hit LA in the early part of rush hour (5am), or 8am, to hit LA in the later part (around 10am). We want to get to Sacto as early as possible, so leaving later in the day is not really ideal. Nor do I really know when the bad traffic will start (it seems like North SD county, all the way through OC, then up into LA). I'm not sure exactly how long it takes to get to the LA area from SD (I've only done the drive there & back once - sadly don't remember). We are leaving sometime in the morning, thinking about our options. Traffic will be heavier than usual around the stadium as Super Bowl fans arrive from around the country to watch the Bengals and Rams on Sunday.
